Youth Boys Code of Conduct
Youth Code of Conduct
Summary
Our Code of Conduct for Lincoln Boy's Youth Program is to help clarify the set of expectations we have for players and potential next steps to take if a player habitually commits violations at practice or games.

Unsportsmanlike Conduct: Unsportsmanlike conduct is defined as a player, coach, parent, or spectator who at any time while on field or on the grounds of a lacrosse game or event conducts him- or herself in an abusive, offensive, or illegal manner during game situations or outside of game situations. This includes, but is not exclusive to the following:

PARENT CODE OF CONDUCT
Parents should foster the goals of the program. Parents will not act in a way that demonstrates disrespect for the game officials, players, coaches, board members, or parents of our teams and or of any opposing teams.
Your Role as a Parent
- Be a positive role model.
- Show your child support, win or lose.
- Exercise control over any negative feelings or emotions.
- Be a supporter of the entire team, coaches, and Lincoln Lacrosse Board of Directors.
- Respect the coaches and officials.

- Encourage your child to set goals and develop a plan to achieve his goals.
- Recognize improved performance regardless of the game outcome.
- Do not engage in unsportsmanlike conduct
- Never criticize or ridicule your child or any other players regardless of the circumstance.
- Always ensure your child attends as many practices and games as possible and is on time.
- Always inform the coaches in advance if your child cannot attend a practice or a game via SportsEngine or otherwise.
- A player who misses a significant amount of practices may experience less playing time in games.
- Be prompt in picking up your son after practice and games.
- Please contact the head coach if there is an emergency.
- Do not coach your child during the game.
- Let players play and coaches coach, and support both positively.
- Emphasize the FUN of the game and the team, and putting forth 100% effort at all times, regardless of the score or situation.
LYL Next Steps for Violations of Code of Conduct
- At the discretion of the coaches, if a player is found to break the code of conduct during an LYL practice or game, our coaches retain the right to issue a referral to the Board regarding the players' violation.
- Parents/families will be notified of the referral with an email writeup about the violation.
- Each player has three 'referrals' per season. On the third referral the Lincoln Lacrosse Board will convene to discuss whether to remove the player for the remainder of the season.
- These referrals can also be applied to Parent behavior.
